The 2015 QOTDCT Birthday Project

Today I’m again using my birthday for a good cause, and this year I’ll be working to raise both funds and awareness for two local food banks.

Here’s a quick description of how the QOTDCT Birthday Project works. First I’ll ask celebrities on Twitter to wish me a Happy Birthday today. (It has to be on Twitter – and RT’s and DM’s don’t count.) For each birthday wish I receive, I’ll donate six dollars – three to the Food Bank of Lower Fairfield County, and three to the Norwalk Community College Food Pantry. (No matter what, I do plan to contribute considerably more than what I accumulate this way.)

If I get thirteen celebrities to respond with a wish, that means I’ll have broken the record for “Most Birthday Wishes From Verified Celebrities On Twitter”, according to the website Record Setter. If that happens, I’ll post a link to the new record in a reply on this page, and with any luck, that will get the charities even more attention.

If you’re not a ‘verified’ celebrity, I would be very happy if you considered supporting these two charities – preferably by way of a donation, but also with a follow on Twitter or Facebook. Here’s what you need in order to do either of those:

Food Bank of Lower Fairfield County

Norwalk Community College Food Pantry

I’ll re-tweet any birthday messages I receive along the way, and I’ll also post links to the charities’ Twitter pages, too. Thanks in advance – and as I said last year, let’s go make a difference together!
